Light Horse at Beersheba - a photo on Flickriver

This ANZAC Day I am remembering the veterans of the First World War. This photo montage takes two historic photographs from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra to create a backdrop to the historic cavalry charge at Beersheba in Palestine in 1917.

On this background, I have placed a selection from one of my photographs of four members of the Tasmanian 3rd Light Horse Regiment. They are demonstrating a charge like the one carried out on the Ottoman HQ in Beersheba on 31 October, 1917. It was one of the last cavalry charges in all wars, and a great victory to the Australian Light Horse.
