Thorne South Yorkshire 29th August 2021

            Seen from the footbridge at Thorne North station, colour light signal (Goole) G37 stands sentinel just down from the station as Northern Class 150 diesel multiple unit 150275 disappears into the distance with 1W40 the 10.25 Sheffield to Scarborough service.

There were several level crossings on minor roads over this stretch but because of the number times that road vehicles crossed the track without stopping and were hit only one is open for road traffic today. The dmu is approaching this one on Marshland Road in Moorends.

The bridge 3km distant was built in the 1980s when Thorne Colliery was being upgraded for re-opening. The upgrade happened but the re-opening didn't.
