             This Wood Sandpiper is shown skirting carefully around a young black headed gull .
 Wood Sandpiper (Estimated Number of Pairs breeding in the UK between 10 and 30 ) Breeding confined to northern Scotland 
This small wader is one of the worlds smallest species of the shank family and is  seen in very small numbers on migration in the UK in spring and summer
