Murtha Road - a photo on Flickriver

Murtha Road

A different version, today, of last year's daily photo. I'd not call either better, they're just two interpretations of the same view.

Murtha and Wellfare Roads run more or less parallel to each other in Danby Township between Tupper Lake Road and Musgrove Highway. That entire loop's within five miles of my house. Wellfare and Murtha are short roads, but offer some engaging terrain--farmyards, a couple interesting fences, some cattle, silos, dirt roads, old barns, and a dip (literally, if you're on Wellfare) into the forest that's the Portland State Game Area. And you can spot the Grand River from Musgrove, though I've never managed a photo I like from there.

I head for Murtha and Wellfare when I don't want to spend a lot of time chasing photos but want to capture something different from the flat farms that mostly surround Mulliken.

That's what I did last January 19.
