The Snow Queen - by www.Hollys-Dollys.co.uk.

I started work on this doll last august. Despite the fact her face has been repainted a while, I was stuck on what to do with Elsa's hair and how to trim her gown until just recently. But I FINALLY got around to finishing the doll this last week, meaning over the weekend I managed to get some fab piccys to show her off to you all.

As you can see, she's not your standard Elsa … That's because at the very beginning of this project I'd decided that I wanted to do my own designer-ised version. However, seeing as I'm almost bored to tears of constantly seeing Elsa in Blue, I thought it'd be fun and unusual to try dressing her in a different colour for this custom version of mine, whilst still keeping the basic Elsa gown shape and silhouette. I wanted her overall look of the gown to be simple and elegant, but also a touch ethereal. Plus I wanted her hairstyle to be something more elaborate and regal, befitting her station as not only the Snow Queen, but the Queen of Arendelle, whilst naturally still maintaining part of her signature braid look too.

So here are the results of my efforts and that initial idea - The Snow Queen !

She started out as a standard Disney Store first edition 12" Elsa fashion doll. If you're wondering what I've done here is a list :-

- Repainted her eyes so they're looking straight forward (this was only my 2nd repaint. The first being my Animator Gothel. This repaint also predates my more recent Cinderella Kit eyes redo).

- Added eyelashes for a little more drama and a more luxurious look.

- Completely restyled her hair with an intricate braided design, also adding pear details (I thought pearls would be something different and interesting compared to the crystals most people use for Elsa customs). Plus I have also given her a crown as well. After all, she is a Queen.

- The dress is handmade (not by me), however I have added the long train and also the pearl strap details coming off the shoulders.

- Added a diamond-style necklace for a bit of royal bling.

- I've also pearl trimmed Elsa's new sparkly frosty-looking shoes to match the details of her hair and the gown straps.

- Added simple crystal stud-type earrings.

- Gave her a sliver bracelet, for a touch of shine.

- Interesting daft fact:- I also had to paint out her underwear as the original blue colour showed through the gown, hehehe.
