Serendipity - a photo on Flickriver

Serendipity

            I know I keep harping on about not being a landscape photographer, but it's true.  A serious landscape photographer would have climbed a mountain, set up a tripod despite the cloudy day and waited in the hope that the light would change.  I can't claim to have done that.  The truth behind this image is that I was a passenger in a car, heading for Ullswater, when there was a sudden break in the cloud.  There happened to be a convenient pull-in at the side of the road, so I said 'Stop the car!', leapt out and took a few quick shots before the clouds closed in again.  It was a magical moment.  Consistent landscape photography is about planning, not luck, of course.  Somehow I don't think I'll ever be a planner, but I'll grab an opportunity if it presents itself.  :))
