Sanderling Sunset Shuffle - a photo on Flickriver

I love watching flocks of these little guys playing chicken with the waves along the beach. They always seem to be running like "late for a very important date" and never tire of gleaning for food. I can totally see now why Florida is such a prime birding location and cannot wait to get back!

Shot Notes: nothing too fancy, a flash was used for fill and I had to position myself aligned with the sunset to get the reflections on the sand with the bird.
