Joint press point by the European Parliament President Martin Schulz and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras

Alexis Tsipras visit to the European Parliament

The President of the European Parliament Martin Schultz welcomed today the newly elected Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Alexis Tsipras who is visiting Brussels.

During the press point Mr Schultz said that "Mr.Tsipras is battling for European cooperation, not only seeking a solution for Greece. He has my full support". The president also stressed "the need for a framework for" constructive dialogue and solutions".

Mr. Tsipras, expressed his optimism that "we are on the right track in the right direction for a sustainable solution".
