Part of my ongoing cancer series.
I don't know how many times I thought I can't take this any more, but the fact that it was multiple times was proof that I could take it, I just didn't want to. It's an important distinction, sure you don't want to be sick or in pain, but recognizing that you have the strength to endure is important. Knowing that you can handle this that it does get better. This too shall pass. You can survive these hard times so you can live for those good times that make you think I'm glad I'm alive. I'm glad I'm alive for this moment.
For the friends I've lost to cancer I'd like to think their better now too, that their pain is over. One way or another things get better sometimes not in the way we thought.
