Reflection of Nature - a photo on Flickriver

            Photographed this White-faced Ibis reflection at Willow Lake Reservoir in Beautiful Prescott, Arizona.  It was the same day I photographed the two Northern Solvers with their heads cocked the same direction I’m sure many have seen that shot) - everyone loved the  image and it's in the set called 3 hour photo shoot.  

I was actually in my bird blind when the entire flocked of White-faced Ibis’es landed 100 yards from me and to my luck (which is pretty good most of the time) they started walking towards the blind at the water’s edge but then stopped about 80 yards out as they heard the big shutter on my 600 mm F/4 APO.  So they back off and started walking away from me but still not spooked to the point of them taking flight.- At this time I was able to take 30-40 images of them concentrating on the ones that were feeding at the water’s edge as that’s where the reflections were best.  

All made possible because of apochromatic lens – you simply cannot achieve a long range shot (especially in Arizona with all its heat wave) with detail without top quality glass –do you think is coming from my Sony A700 –well that’s 20% of the battle, the lens 50% of the battle and the balance to knowing how to use those big long lenses – don’t ever think for  a second you can spend $13,000 on a lens and “presto I’m a nature photographer” – you must me schooled with such a combination of high-tech equipment – that’s where I come in.
