Coral Sands and Blue Skies - a photo on Flickriver

            The beaches north of Daytona are, in my opinion, a lot prettier and more interesting. Daytona has sand that is like sugar and quite white. It is hard packed and flat, which makes it perfect for driving on except for during high tide. The beaches to the north have coral sands, which are made up of larger shell particles. They don't stick to everything the way the powdery sand  does, either. 

Along with the more colorful sands, beaches from Flagler to St. Augustine have driftwood and rocks on them, which makes for much more interesting scenic views. This shot was taken at Marineland, on the beach right behind the famous vintage theme park. The processed pic definitely shows the coloration better than the SOOC shot below.
