Praga Ponte Carlo

            Il Ponte Carlo é un ponte in pietra in stile gotico che collega la Cittá Vecchia a Malá Strana. Durante i primi secoli d'esistenza veniva infatti chiamato Ponte di Pietra (Kamenný most). La sua costruzione fu commissionata dal re di Boemia e Sacro Romano Imperatore Carlo IV ed ebbe inizio nel 1357. Incaricato della costruzione del ponte fu l'architetto Petr Parléř tra le cui opere si annoverano anche la Cattedrale di San Vito ed il Castello di Praga. Si dice che dei tuorli d'uovo furono aggiunti alla calcina per rafforzare la struttura del ponte.

Nel XVII secolo si inizió a collocare delle statue barocche su entrambe i lati del Ponte Carlo.

The Charles Bridge is a stone Gothic bridge that connects the Old Town and Malá Strana. During the first centuries of existence it was in fact called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most). Its construction was commissioned by the King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV and began in 1357. In charge of the bridge construction was architect Petr Parler, among whose works include the St. Vitus Cathedral and Prague Castle. It is said that egg yolks were mixed into the mortar to strengthen the structure of the bridge.
 
In the seventeenth century Baroque statues began to be placed on both sides of the Charles Bridge.

El Puente de Carlos es un puente gótico de piedra que conecta el casco antiguo y Malá Strana. Durante los primeros siglos de existencia fue, de hecho, llamado el Puente de Piedra (Kamenný más). Su construcción fue encargada por el rey de Bohemia y emperador Carlos IV y comenzó en 1357. A cargo de la construcción del puente fue el arquitecto Peter Parler, entre cuyas obras incluyen la Catedral de San Vito y el Castillo de Praga. Se dice que las yemas de huevo se mezclaron en el mortero para fortalecer la estructura del puente.
 
En el siglo XVII estatuas barrocas comenzaron a ser colocados en ambos lados del puente de Carlos.
