Yavapai Point, Grand Canyon National Park

I visited the Grand Canyon in February hoping to avoid the crowds. I think I did, relatively so at least, but I still spent a lovely 0 degrees (F) sunrise at Yavapai Point with about 60 or so folks, mostly because a snowstorm the previous evening led to the closing of the South Rim road so everyone was densely concentrated in the Village Area.

At first I was disappointed that I couldn't drive the Rim as I intended, but as I was taking this shot I realized how lucky I was to be at this place at this time.

This photo was created from a single RAW image processed in Adobe Lightroom. Adjustments include crop, lens correction, exposure, spot removal, and white balance.
