Abandoned Abused Street Dogs.

Left home by 5:15AM, arrived at
The Monkey Temple by 6:30AM.

Lots to talk about, some good and
some not so good. First this photo.

Head monk yells out my name and
motions for the camera. This is the
third time he has done this. One or
two will always turnout salvageable.

Mama & Rocky met me at The Dog Palace.
Huge big excitement.Toe licking, leg crashing,
yodeling, barking, back flips, front flips, racing
big circles, falling down and doing it all over..;-)

Feed bags are prepared in The Bingo Room then
off to the concrete walking bridge. Of course they
beat me there after chasing some monkeys and a
hand full of silly chickens who raced up into a tree.

These dogs are really really wound up and full of excitement.
All the way to the nuns monkeys were chased into the swamp
as well as up tree trunks, nobody was immune, no body ........;-)

We continued on to The Spirit House where big fun was had.
Hot-dogs were consumed with a side order of fresh kibble.
Monkeys were everywhere causing lots of naughty trouble.

An hour later we head back to the nuns where nurse nun was
very animated about Pumpkin.Over time I figured out Pumpkin
had a severe monkey bite on her back and Pumpkin was no
where to be found.OK, a plan was made and we all took off
looking for injured Pumpkin.We covered a lot of jungle area
searching high an low. Maintenance workers, Mr Kind Monk
and 8 military members joined in to find Pumpkin The Rascal.

Many out buildings were searched as was their surroundings.
As the search crew grew tired and started to dwindle we went
back to the nuns place.It had been 2 hours and the heat was
climbing fast.After re-hydrating I motioned nurse nun to follow
me to a place I knew not far from her place. Knowing no one
had been in that area during our search it was just a last ditch
effort for Pumpkin. Not real easy to get there but I knew of an
animal trail making it a bit easier, but not easy by any means.
Old rock building heavily overgrown with a long plank porch.
Started calling her name followed with a loud shrill whistle !
Did this two or three times as I cautiously walked on the semi-
rotting planks. Thought I heard a thumping sound but with my
old ears it could have been anything, or nothing. Whistled one
more time and heard a thump thump at the end of the porch.
The thumping continued so with the nun in tow we found an
animal hole through the brush at the end of the porch. Not big
but big enough to look into the black abyss.Way down at the
end something had moved making the thumping sound ?
Nurse Nun pulled out a small flashlight and sure enough there
was Pumpkin with her tail hitting a rotted board going thump
thump thump. Now there's a problem. She's a long way away
and there's less then 18" inches of clearance to the bottom of
the rotting planks and rusty nails ! We called, promised her the
world but Pumpkin wasn't moving period ! Only her tail moved.
It became real obvious Pumpkin is in a lot of pain and she is
not coming out for any food or empty promises so a new plan
had to be made. Now that she had been located I cleared the
trail a little better so the nuns can get to her easier. There was
nothing more I can do today. Nuns will keep trying to get her
to come out on her own when Mama isn't around. Pumpkin
knows Mama might spank her for being stupid if she's there
when Pumpkin exits her hiding place.So, I dug down into the
cotton food bag and came up with some antibiotic cream for
her monkey bite. Nun drew a 7" inch line down my back to
indicate where and how long the laceration is. No# 1 wife
will stay in contact with the nuns and we'll just have to see
what happens. Hopefully by tomorrow Pumpkin will come out.

At this point Mama and I take off for The Dog Palace.
I'm real burned out and Mama looks like she could
use a break from the heat as well.Bingo Room is the
new destination.Both of us laid down for a short nap.

Might have missed some other stuff but I'm
to old to remember what I forgot anyway.

More new photos will be posted in the
next few days unless I have to make a
quick run out to get Pumpkin then into
the dog clinic for needed repair work ?

Remember the deal was I'd be sharing a
small slice of their life here in the jungle.
