NIck and I arrived at Lost Lake around 10PM after driving from Portland. An hour or so after leaving the Hood River behind, we arrived at Lost Lake, only to find the gate closed and locked, with a sign indicating the park was shuttered due to the government shutdown.

We set up camp just outside the park and had a great time shooting the moonrise and then the early morning light hitting the mountain from the opposite side of the lake. We were probably the only two people in 50 square miles that night, and it was a wonderful experience.
