You're following the parade - a photo on Flickriver

            As I stated in an earlier post from my brief visit on this evening, there was no hint of any PSR (Precision Scheduled Railroading) train combinations on this particular day when I stopped in downtown La Porte, Indiana on NS' Chicago Line. As soon as I pulled into town, NS treated me to non-stop action for 90 minutes to two hours or so. Here's one of the short hotshots flying through La Porte on its way to Chicago passing the remainder of the yard on NS' former LS&MS/NYC/PC/CR Chicago Line.  

Both the Nickel Plate and the Pere Marquette crossed the NYC here in downtown. The former Nickel Plate survives as the Elkhart & Western, and the Pere Marquette has been abandoned.
