BACK IN THE OLD ROUTINE - a photo on Flickriver

            With a growing frustration at photographing yet another class66 or unit on the mainline I headed for the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway for it's annual gala
With an excellent weather forecast and another opportunity to see steam in the South Wales valleys it was an opportunity too good to miss.
Hunslet 0-6-0ST No.18 without it's Jessie nameplate (1873 of1937) heads from Blaenavon High Level towards Furnace Sidings with a small rake of 'windcutter' wagons on loan from the Great Central on 13-9-19
This was the 150th Anniversary Steam Gala entitled 'Built in Leeds' day Friday 13th Sptember.
The 150th anniversary of Blaenavon being reached by the LNWR from the north
Not quite Mountain Ash or Maesteg but the best we are going to get.
