I took two versions of this picture. This one at 60mm and this one at 35mm.

I always wanted a shot looking down Lexington Ave toward the Chrysler. So I did it, even though there's scaffolding in the picture on the bottom right, which I hate, and the parked cars on the bottom left are too close to me for my liking (I don't like parked cars being so prominent in my urban shots...I hate it). In the other picture, I was able minimize focus on these two elements, because of the longer focal length...but the trade-off in that other picture is that the Chrysler is too distant. I set the white balance to daylight, to give it a cooler hue.

This is another HDR photo. I had the camera assess an exposure for the entire frame, and took a -2 exposure compensation shot, and a +2 one, and combined the three in Photomatix Pro 4. I think now that I've got the HDR basics down, I'm gonna try to put more effort into making them look more natural...maybe try as much as possible to get the camera to assess a proper exposure for the foreground or midground, and then compensate for the sky, and combine those two (or three) exposures; rather than letting the camera decide what's the best middle exposure for the entire frame (on which the the -2 and +2 shots are based).
