Sylvan Lake - a photo on Flickriver

Sylvan Lake

             On a slightly more serious note than the previous photo  this was our next stop.  A beautiful lake and the sun peaking and playing through the clouds.    This lake had a road (if you could call it that) that ran along the edge and for the most part you could look down through the trees to see the lake, but oh what a road! One lane (or track) gravel with pot holes big enough to swallow the Empire State Building and Rocks that were more boulders than anything!  We passed by the one and only lane that led down to the waters edge because we wanted to see the end of the road.   After bouncing and bumping along for almost half an hour at the ripping speed of about 10 MPH we came to a low water crossing.  These crossings are used all over the state and are not bridges at all, just places where they deem it safe to cross a stream.  But after recent rainfalls, this crossing was impossible or safe for us.  And yes, Anita thought it necessary to get out and walk into that stream just to be sure, you know, that it Was too deep!!  LOL  Another laugh filled day of exploration!
