This is a great little guide book to Rochdale's bus services and the moorland beauty spots they served. Sadly I cannot track down the artist "FB" that appears on some of the illustrations.

By using the Spotland (Lanehead) bus, past the Turner Bros. asbestos factory, access is gained to the moorland road that stretches many bleak miles across to Rawtenstall and Bacup, or you can drop down into the valley of the River Spod, or Spodden, and the local beauty spot of Healey Dell. The splendid railway viaduct, long disused, is part of a popular trail.
