Sea Serpent in the Desert - a photo on Flickriver

            Our first day of shooting was going to be in the Anza Borrego State park.  We drove in from Jacumba and took a desert road off of Interstate 8 to get here.  The drive was pretty scenic but we didn't see any flowers blooming on the ground.  We did get to stop and take some pictures of the ocotillo that were in full bloom.

The artist that created these metal sculptures is Ricardo Breceda.  He is on Facebook and the web if you want to find out more about him. The day before, we went to his sculpture garden and I was really excited to get out here and see his big pieces.  I think the sea serpent was my favorite in the desert.  There are 5 more sections to the serpent and it crosses the road here.  In all it is 350 feet long!  

My friend had been here before and did some night shooting at this location.  That is on my bucket list for my next visit.  When the sky is right, you can get a very clear view of the Milky Way from here.  These sculptures will give you a great foreground.
