Tewkesbury Abbey in fog / UK - a photo on Flickriver

            Op deze plaats staat sinds meer dan 1200 jaar een kerk. Het huidige gebouw staat er al 900 jaar. Het is de kerk van de Benedictijner Abdy van Tewkesbury, een van de laatste kloosters die door Hendrik 8ste werd opgeheven. Dankzij de toenmalige inwoners van de stad, die de abdijkerk voor 453 pond van de koning kochten, bestaat deze nog steeds.

On this place is a church for more than 1200 years. The current building is already there 900 years. It is the Church of the Benedictine Abdy from Tewkesbury, one of the last monasteries that was raised by Henry 8th. Thanks to the then inhabitants of the city, which the Abbey Church for £ 453 of the King also still exists.
