Originally assigned to Engine 17 at State & English Streets in Lower Price Hill where the rig was placed in service on February 15, 1941.  In this photo the apparatus was assigned to the 3's at 9th & Broadway in Downtown.  Many of the fire companies that were is stations in high value areas (Central Business District and Mill Creek Valley manufacturing area) operated with 2 engines.  One of the rigs was assigned duties as the hose wagon.  The classic fire engine shown here is the 3's hose wagon.  Firefighters used to call the wagons "Jeeps" for some unknown reason. 

This apparatus is quipped with a 3-person cab built in Cincinnati by the company now known as Truck Cab Manufacturers (TCM).  The siren/light combination mounted on the fender and the bell were the only warning devices on board.
