Schrecksee - a photo on Flickriver

Schrecksee

            When I started my tour on the Schrecksee in the Allgäu Alps,
I didn't know what to expect.
At 6:20 am in the dark and minus 2 degrees, we went from
Tannheim by bike to Vilsalpsee. From there in about 2 hours
on foot to the lake at 1813m above sea level.
On the ascent in the thick fog that scattered the glow of my
headlamp. After a waiting time of approx.
1 hour at minus 4 degrees, the fog tore open and the first rays
of sunshine illuminated the picturesque lake.
The rest is a picture.
