Die Fatimakapelle Schardenberg, auch Granitene Marienburg genannt, ist eine Wallfahrtskapelle im Fronwald in der oberösterreichischen Gemeinde Schardenberg.

            Sie wurde zwischen 1949 und 1951 an der Stelle eines Vorgängerbaus im historistischen Stil errichtet. Zu Christi Himmelfahrt im Jahre 1939 wurden zwei Diakone in der Pfarrkirche Schardenberg von Bischof Johannes Maria Gföllner zum Priester geweiht. In der vorigen Nacht wurde von NS-Arbeitsdienstlern sämtlicher Kirchenschmuck und -fahnen heruntergerissen und in den Fronwald verschleppt. Am Feiertagsnachmittag strömte das Pfarrvolk protestartig in großer Zahl herbei zur Maiprozession. Kurz danach kam ein trockenes Gewitter, wobei ein Blitz in den Maibaum am Marktplatz einschlug und alle NS-Symbole herabfielen; gleichzeitig schlug ein Blitz im Fronwald ein, wo die zerrissenen Kirchenfahnen lagen. Die Menschen sahen darin ein Gottesurteil.

The Fatima Chapel Schardenberg, also called Granitene Marienburg, is a pilgrimage chapel in the Fronwald in the Upper Austrian municipality of Schardenberg. It was built between 1949 and 1951 on the site of a previous building in the historicist style. On Ascension Day in 1939, two deacons were ordained priests in the Schardenberg parish church by Bishop Johannes Maria Gföllner. Last night all church decorations and flags were torn down by NS workers and taken to the Fronwald. On the afternoon of the holiday, the parishioners flocked in protest in large numbers to the May procession. Shortly thereafter came a dry thunderstorm, during which lightning struck the maypole on the market square and all the NS symbols fell down; at the same time, lightning struck the Fronwald, where the torn church flags lay. People saw it as a judgment from God.
