Das Kastell St. Peter (Bodrum Kalesi) in Bodrum, dem antiken Halikarnassos, wurde 1420 von Kreuzrittern errichtet und fiel 1523 den Osmanen kampflos in die Hand, als die Johanniter Rhodos aufgaben. Heute beherbergt das Kastell ein Unterwassermuseum und ein Meeres-Museum, das sich der jahrhundertelangen Schiffbau-Tradition widmet. 

Bodrum Castle was built from 1420 onwards, by the Knights of St John as the Castle of St. Peter. The castle was completed in the late 15th century, only to be taken over by the Islamic Ottoman Empire in 1523. The castle remained under the empire for almost 400 years. Today the fort houses an underwater museum and a maritime museum dedicated to the centuries-old shipbuilding tradition.
