Baumberg März-21 St-Dionysius 720 - a photo on Flickriver

            St. Dionysius geht auf eine kleine Kapelle aus dem späten Mittelalter zurück – 1296 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt - von der nur noch der Kirchturm erhalten ist. 1890 wurde St. Dionysius zur selbstständigen Pfarrei erhoben und hat in den letzten 40 Jahren eine lebhafte Entwicklung gehabt; aus einer kleinen Dorfpfarrei mit 1800 Seelen ist eine Stadtgemeinde mit über 7000 Katholiken geworden.

St. Dionysius goes back to a small chapel from the late Middle Ages - first mentioned in a document in 1296 - of which only the church tower remains. In 1890, St. Dionysius was elevated to an independent parish and has had a lively development in the last 40 years; a small village parish with 1800 souls has become a city parish with over 7000 Catholics.
