[PRESERVED] London Ambulance Service BLY 141Y

            Alan Partridge once said that he would not be driving a Mini Metro, but it seems the London Ambulance Service had no choice for the matter when they bought many batches of them. Here appears to be one of the only ones that still exists today. For all that's said about these piddly little British Leyland superminis, at least the checkerboard striping suits it. They're hardly speedy things, though, but that's probably why this was a staff car rather than a rapid response vehicle... if they existed back then. Regardless, a great little preservation job that, per other photos on Flickr, can be wheeled on the back of a caravan! Oh, well that's just brilliant.

Seen here on show at the Sandtoft Trolleybus museum after likely having been towed there on the back of a caravan tow hitch is preserved London Ambulance Service BLY 141Y, a 1982 Austin Metro staff car.
