Photo : Oloron Sainte-Marie, située au pied des Pyrénées est le point de confluence de deux des chemins de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle en Béarn Pyrénées : la voie d’Arles (venant de Toulouse et Auch) et le chemin du Piémont pyrénéen ou chemin d’Italie. La Cathédrale Sainte-Marie de cette ville est classée au Patrimoine Mondial de l’Humanité par l’UNESCO au titre des Chemins de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.

Oloron Sainte-Marie est une villa de confluencias. Fluviales primeramente, pues aquí se unen dos de los grandes afluentes del Adour (Gave de Ossau y Gave de Aspe) que descienden del Pirineo central próximo. Tanbién confluencia de dos grandes caminos de Santiago, el de Arles y el del pie de monte Pirenaico o camino de Italia, procedente del Mediterráneo. La catedral de Santa María de esta localidad obispal pertenece al patrocinio mundial de Unesco.
