A Roadside Attraction - a photo on Flickriver

            The speed limit on two-lane Arrowhead Lake Road, heading through the mostly open country from Hesperia to Summit Valley, is 45 miles per hour, which means that most cars go 50 mph or faster.  The exception is vintage Volkswagens, which typically go considerably slower, allowing their drivers to notice small attractions like this patch of Mexican primroses growing along the road's eastern edge.  The flowers of these little primroses, common along roadsides in many southern and western states,  start out white and grow pink as they age, producing both white and pink flowers on the same plant.

Camera: Pentax Spotmatic SP1000 (1973-1976, with Super-Takumar 55mm f/1.8 lens).

Film: 35mm Kodak Ektar 100 ISO Color Negative Film, developed using The Film Photography Project's C-41 Home Processing Kit, and scanned with an Epson V600 scanner.
