Mushroom Soup

Sometimes there are just too many opportunities to take a picture in an autumn woodland and it can be difficult to know where to look (wood for the tree's and the likes) there's lovely light shafts, yellow and orange leaves back lit by warm low sunshine, fallen leaves creating nice lines, you know the type. Well, our trip to Northumberland last week didn't provide any of that, it's almost November and save a few leaves on the ground that had turned, its still very very green everywhere, when is Autumn again? Anyway, as the plan was to shoot backlit leaves in that lovely warm low sunlight if I could, especially the affore mentioned yellows and oranges and it was all very grey n the sky nd green in the trees, I decided to go to plan B instead and have a look around for funghi instead. No light and no colour will do that to you, not that it's a bad thing. Anyway, lots and lots AND lots of common puffballs (can't be that common I'd never seen one before and yet have seen numerous Giant Puffballs go figure lol) and tucked away hidden in a little corner of an old quarried out area, this little fella was just about to get devoured by numerous bugs, in fact one had already had a significant breakfast by the time I found it. I made the decision, judging by the colour of it, and left it in situe, I'm not sure a mushroom soup from this would have been very healthy for me. Hopefully next time we go into the woodlands it will actually be Autumn, even if thats not until March judging by current colours!
