Marée montante sur la côte normande

            Grandcamp-Maisy (Calvados) - Cette petite ville normande de 1536 habitants, se situe aux confins des département du Calvados et de la Manche. Lors du Débarquement des Alliés le 6 Juin 1944, ce port était un point stratégique entre les plages d’Utah Beach et Omaha Beach. La ville a été libérée le 9 Juin 1944 à l’issue de terribles combat qui ont pratiquement rasé la ville. Il a fallu tout reconstruire. Aujourd’hui, les principales activités économiques de Grandcamp sont la pêche et le tourisme.

Grandcamp-Maisy (Calvados) - This small Norman town of 1536 inhabitants is located on the borders of the Calvados and Manche departments. During the Allied landings on June 6, 1944, this port was a strategic point between the beaches of Utah Beach and Omaha Beach. The city was liberated on June 9, 1944 after terrible fighting which practically razed the city. Everything had to be rebuilt. Today, the main economic activities of Grandcamp are fishing and tourism.
