Cravens and Calder Valley units at Ramsbottom

            On it's first day of passenger service after a 21 year restoration Cravens 105 unit with Sc 51485 trailing (nearest the camera) heads the 09:45 Rawtenstall - Heywood and BRCW Class 110 with 51813 leading heads the 09:50 Bury - Rawtenstall with a parcels van at the rear at Ramsbottom. Whilst a physical link to the rail network exists at Castleton it is not possible for the Cravens unit to get to Manchester Victoria. At one time it would have been possible to get to Leeds northbound from Ramsbottom, albeit with a change at Skipton, but sadly there are two gaps in the chain which prevent such a move today although there are encouraging signs that the 11 mile gap from Colne to Skipton could be re-instated at some time in the future.
