Maiden Island and Ben Cruachan from the Oban to Craignure ferry, Argyll, Scotland.

            Commentary.

Not the “Hollow Mountain” from here.
More like the twin-peaked, graceful mountain.
In this image it is 24km. or 15 miles to the east.
It dominates many skylines in northern Argyll.
Left, is the slightly more rounded, Stob Dearg, 1,104 metres
and right, is the sharper peaked Ben Cruachan, itself, at 1,126 metres.
Maiden Island, middle ground, provides a natural break-water to Oban Bay, the ruins of Dunollie Castle and the coastal road to the sandy beach at Ganavan Bay.
This image was taken from the Oban to Craignure Ferry on the way to the wonderful Island of Mull.
And yes……Cruachan can clearly be seen
from Ben More on Mull, 56km. or 35 miles away.
