KCS 2 @ Page, OK

            On its deadhead run for Kansas City, train BSHKC-17 snakes through the S curve northbound along the Big Creek just outside of Page, OK while easing down the famous “Rich Mountain” with the A-B-A set of Kansas City Southern FP9As (KCS 2 and KCS 1) on the KCS Shreveport Sub. It’s the beginning of spring so the mountain wasn’t yet “colorful” with all the dead trees but this was just day 1 that ended up beginning at Mooringsport, LA for a 1500 mile total chase over a span of 3 days.
