Pale King - a photo on Flickriver

Pale King

            Relic of a former proud German Naval Helicopter Sea King Mk.41.
The Sea King Helicopter of the Marineflieger are going to be replaced by the NH90 NTH Sea Lion within the next months.

For 50 years the "King" served in the German Navy mainly as a SAR-Helicopter (Search and Rescue) for that reason there is a special painted Sea King flying for the last days in the inventory...
For me this piece of scrap metal shows perfectly the 50 years in service and it presents a special atmosphere..

A salute to the pale King still wearing the anchor with pride.
