Indian Mallow (Abutilon theophrasti Medik,1787) seed capsule

            Abutilon theophrasti commonly  known as  China Jute, Buttonweed, Butterprint, Pie-marker or Indian Mallow  is native to southern Asia.Its flowers are yellow or orange and seed capsules split lengthwise to release the seeds. It has been grown in China since around 2000 BCE for its strong, jute-like fibre. In midwestern and northeastern regions of the United States, eastern Canada and the Eastern Mediterranean, it is considered a weed to agricultural crops, especially corn and soybeans.
