Black-Chinned Hummingbird (lifer) - a photo on Flickriver

            Mega Lifer # 36 2021
Wasn't sure what I was looking at at first. I did get several shots from different angles, trying to get the Ruby neck to show. The sun was behind me, so if the red was there, I'd see it. Turns out it wasn't a Ruby-Throated.
The big markings for the Black-Chinned are, Slightly longer bill and a slight down slope, white dot behind the eye, wings are a bit club shaped and extend to the tip of the tail, The Green is on the dingier side, not as bright as a Ruby-Throated
Going by Ebirds, several sightings of females or subadults have been seen over the years on the east coast. Never a full Adult male and This would be the first of any kind photographed or reported in New York.
