Die Johanneskapelle
Zählt zu den bedeutendsten Bau- und Kunstdenkmalen in Österreich. Sie besitzt eine einzigartige romanische Wandmalereiausstattung. Erbaut vermutlich auf altgermanischer Kultstätte (worauf die Namen der nächsten Umgebung wie "Geier"hügel sowie "Fuchs"luke hinweisen) im romanischen Stil um 1100, eher noch früher, als das Christentum im Ennstal Fuß fasste.

Freskenschmuck
Um 1500, jener der Apsis wohl jünger. Maler unbekannt, wahrscheinlich ein von Ottokar VII. (aus dem Geschlechte der Traungauer mit dem Sitz auf der Burg Grauscharn auf dem Burgstall) auf dem Kreuzzug aus dem Morgenland mitgebrachter Künstler.

Das Altarkreuz ist ein romanischer Kruzifixus um das Jahr 1000 (eines der ältesten Kruzifixe der Steiermark), der später restauriert wurde (Jahreszahl im Kreuz 1487. Dabei wurden wahrscheinlich auch die Arme erneuert).
