Looking for the weak spot - a photo on Flickriver

I had a lovely time (perhaps this is a little heartless) watching our White Phase Grey Goshawk trying to access our budgies a few minutes ago. The budgies seem to be used to the bird of prey visits now. They huddle up behind foliage at the back of the cage, and seem to reappear pretty quickly now.

The Goshawk was sitting in a large tree above the cage for a while, and its movement attracted my attention. I had the camera on hand to watch the attack, but I was behind pretty grimy glass. We have some tarp covers on the cage for cold nights, and the goshawk even went in to ground level to try to move the tarp to get to the hiding spots. Notice the hosepipe on the right hand side of the roof. That was on both sides, to stop the sharp edge of the perspex from cutting the feet of the birds of prey that visit. Unfortunately one was knocked off after the weekend. I have to come up with a new cunning plan to fix some protective edging on (ideas for the non-handperson to do would be gratefully accepted).
