Snow Hill submerged - a photo on Flickriver

            Birmingham Snow Hill station, unlike nearby Moor Street, is never going to win any architectural awards, as it essentially a three storey car park plonked on top of the platforms. 'A carbuncle' was the view of Prince Charles, who is well known for his views on modern architecture. However, gradually the station has become submerged by the growth of Birmingham city centre and the new, and dramatic, buildings which have sprung up in the area. This is well illustrated as the station tends to blend into the general scene as DBS Class 67 No. 67018 Keith Heller departs with Chiltern Trains 1K65 1847 London Marylebone to Kidderminster service on 1st July 2014.
