"Sharing a Smoke" Snowpocalypse 2008 Mini Snowman With Cigarette in Seattle WA 18Dec2008

            No photo says "Christmas" quite like this one. ;^)

"Have any more smokes, Bub?" Two small snowmen share a smoke during the opening rounds of the big snow of 2008-09. I encountered this scene outside an office building in downtown Seattle.

Lightning and thunder accompanied the 18 Dec 2008 snowstorm in Seattle, along with a period of incredibly heavy snow: a thick fall of giant flakes reduced visibility to less than 200 m for a time. At my location in the International District, I measured a peak depth of 10.4 cm (4.1") from this event. Observers in some outlying areas reported 30-70 cm (12-28") of snow in a few cases, with most reports in the metro area below 20 cm (8").
