Day 186- Score!!!!!! - a photo on Flickriver

            July 4, 186/366 (1647/1827)- So last night while my wife was fabric shopping in Orlando I wandered down to a nearby Best Buy and as a joke asked if they had a D800 in stock.  These are sold out with waiting lists months out usually.  They laughed but then my daughter came in and asked if any other Best Buy in Orlando had one.  The computer showed 2 stores, called the first one and they laughed, called the second one and they had one sitting there.  The nice saleslady said they would hold until today since it was closing time; no credit card or anything.

This morning we drove to the store when it opened, I really doubted it would still be there but it was, just like she said!  I paid for it, went out to my truck to swap the lens off my D300s (DX format though), SD card, and battery.  Of course it is a different size battery so charged the D800 battery in my truck (yes, my F150 has a 110v outlet) a few minutes, and then started snapping away.  Love it, and now I have it time to take with my to Alaska next week!
