Old St. Boniface Catholic Church (St. Bonifacius Kirche)/Trinity Presbyterian Church, Adela Avenue, Ludlow, KY

            Originally built in 1872, St. Boniface Catholic Church, also known as St. Bonifacius Kirche, was home to a German-speaking congregation.  The Romanesque Revival-style brick building originally had a high nave with windows above the roof of the lower aisles on each side, much in the style of Medieval Cathedrals, but completely collapsed during a tornado in 1915, which destroyed the roof and original high nave.  When rebuilt after 1915, the church was simpler, with a single roof over both the nave and aisles, and the building was coated with concrete formstone cladding. The building continued to serve as a local Catholic parish church for German families until 1980, when it was merged with nearby St. James Church, forming St. Boniface-St. James Parish, and the building was sold to the local Presbyterian congregation.
