Fort Barfoot hosts infantry tactics exchange with partners from Tajikistan

Brig. Gen. Todd H. Hubbard, the Virginia National Guard Director of the Joint Staff, and Col. Christopher Dunn, the VNG J3 director of joint operations, meet with soldiers from the Republic of Tajikistan during an infantry tactics exchange May 9, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. The exchange was conducted in support of the Department of Defense‘s State Partnership Program, in which Virginia and Tajikistan have been partners since 2003. During the meeting, the VNG senior leaders presented special challenge coins to their Tajik partners, who also presented Hubbard with a symbolic gift. VNG Soldiers assigned to the Winchester-based 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team hosted the exchange, focused on fundamentals of patrolling, reacting to contact and room clearing.
