Great Horned Owl - Sigma 100-400 - a photo on Flickriver

            I have been testing out the Sigma 100-400 lens on my Sony A7R2 and on my E-M1 with auto-focus converters.  Neither system has a good cheap native zoom lens in this length and this Sigma has shown it is very sharp at its minimum apertures.  This is one of the first times I took it out on the A7R2.  I went to a place I can usually find Great horned owls and sure enough, I found one.   i was not impressed by the A7R2's ability to focus through the branches and  leaves.  The fact that it doesn't have a focus point joystick was also annoying.  On top of that, that 400mm on full frame vs. 600mm equiv on my Fuji X-T2 is very noticable when trying to photo birds.  This outing made me wish I was shooting with my X-T2 and the experience added to the buyers remorse I have been having for this A7R2.
