Where the orchids grow - a photo on Flickriver

            Klein-Gößgraben, Leoben, Steiermark, Austria. On this meadow Anacamptis morio and Dactylorhiza sambucina (Holunder-Knabenkraut, elder-flowered orchid. The farmer or workers of the solar panels erected on the other side of the slope have almost destroyed the flowering orchids, which were unaffected by the snow and cold of the last two weeks. I was really disappointed and unhappy that this unofficial “Site of Special Interest” will not be as special as previous years. There is hope that it will recover and be a gem again.
