CWGC Pte O. Woodley, St Lawrence Church, Sheepwash, Devon DSCF1040

            CWGC grave of 178183 Private Otho Harry Woodley of the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) in St Lawrence Churchyard, Sheepwash, Devon. You will note from his date of death that he died the day after the Armistice came into force. It may be that he had been shipped back to England, only to die of wounds. He was 24 years old. 

Private Woodley was the son of Henry and Salome Woodley, of The Square, Sheepwash. The Square is just yards from his final resting place. His name is also remembered on the Sheepwash War Memorial.

Rest in peace soldier.
