Caterpillar (Lepidoptera) munching glandular flowers of native Coast Tarweed (Madia sativa, Asteraceae)

            This is a handsome caterpillar (Lepidoptera) munching new mid-summer very glandular flowers of native Coast Tarweed (Madia sativa) in the Asteraceae plant family.  I have no idea what of moth or butterfly this caterpillar will become, but here it is.  (San Marcos Pass, 29 July 2013)

Today started nice enough, but then the marine layer clouds blew over the mountains, with resulting winds.  The clouds went away, but it was windy all day.  I've been distracted anyway, getting ready for our trip to Oregon in a few days.
