Heavy Duty Vehicles - a photo on Flickriver

This unusual collection of equipment is sitting beside one of the VLA railroad tracks in the desert, slowly rusting and collecting dust. I can only guess at their purpose but the two nearest machines in the foreground appear to be some kind of hardcore forklift trucks! There were also a couple of vintage buses parked at the end of the row; covered with government markings.
